JellyCar. Now there’s a concept. You have a car, it has a jelly-like consistency. There are obstacles, they also have a jelly-like consistency. Every thing seems to be made of jelly. This could make things quite slippery. While you might think that this would make objects easier to pass, you would be thinking wrong. Devious level design makes reaching the end of the level a challenge you should not underestimate.
The sequel, JellyCar 2, is now available on the Apple App Store, but is not free.

Newton Playground is a demo made for the Newton Game Dynamics open source physics engine. It is basically a showcase for the abilities of the engine, and you can really use the playground to push the engine to its limits. Once again, it is a nice sandbox where you can just create bunch of stuff and then drop a ball on it to destroy it all. The very purpose of a physics engine, right? You can also open some pre-made scenes so you can play around and see what the playground has to offer. Because it’s 3d and because of the interface and the sheer possibilities it can get a little complex, but once you get the hang of it it’s a whole lotta fun.

The Dismount games are the digital equivalent of a cat playing with a dead bird. The point is to watch your little ragdoll fall down a set of stairs, or crash against a wall sitting in a little truck. And just like the cat, you will have a lot of fun doing it. With everything being virtual, you can do it guilt free, right? Well, let’s just be glad the graphics aren’t particularly realistic. These games have been floating around the interspheres for a quite a while, but are still very enjoyable little toys.
A version of Stair Dismount for the iPhone and iPod Touch has also been released

I first discovered Phun in early 2008, and made some interesting videos with it that got a few thousand views each on YouTube… Those videos have long since been deleted, but now I’ve come to find out that development on Phun is still going strong, and so is the community. This means that I don’t really have to explain what Phun is to you, because you can just click here
Ok, I guess I still owe a small description. Phun is in essence a pretty standard physics sandbox. Make shapes, connect them with springs or ropes, smash them into each other, etc. I would personally recommend building a huge wall out of thousands of individual bricks and then smashing it with a catapult, but only if you have a pc that can handle it. What sets Phun apart from other 2d physics sandboxes is that 1: It can handle quite a lot of on screen action at once, and 2: Awesome fluid dynamics, with which I have managed to make some interesting water cannons. Also, over time so much has been added to this little piece of software that no other 2d physics toy can compare.
I must warn you before you download this, you will lose hours of your life.
